Ewwwww BusinessMen!!!

Kind of a slow week but not too bad. Being in Texas I’ve noticed my tolerance for the cold has exponentially decreased… in high 50⁰s and low 60⁰s I would be in shorts chillin at home. But here in Texas, I’m out here In a long sleeve and sweater lol. So that’s awesome…

BUT the highlight of the week was our training for the district Council. Brother Wilson from the Mt. Pleasant ward drove the sisters up and then gave us training and it was so good. I felt the spirit so strong and there were so many parts I just felt like bursting into tears. But don’t worry I held it together lol. He talked about how our focus and attitude are directly related to our success and level of spirituality. He gave us a quote to memorize. It was “In coming days it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost”

He then shared some cool quotes by Brad Wilcox, “God isn’t just proving us, he’s IMPROVING us” and “We’re not earning our way to heaven, we’re LEARNING our way to heaven.” It was really cool to think of everything w a new perspective and ponder about my focus and purpose here on a mission. He said we need to accept God’s will and be willing to be guided by him and his influence. He then transitioned from our focus and attitude to our self-worth, and I really needed to hear this part. He says “stay your course and push away distractions. You can’t go anywhere if you’re constantly beating yourself up.” It was just so powerful and you could see the passion in his voice and his eyes and it was just so cool. Even though I don’t know Brother Wilson very well, I feel his love not only for the gospel, but for me too. He then went on to say that we need to stop getting down on the things we’re not doing, and start recognizing the things we ARE doing and accomplishing no matter how small. It was just such a neat experience for me.

A funny thing from this week: we went to Walmart to snag some candy real quick for our ward trunk or treat and as we’re walking to the checkout line, this little girl couldn’t be older than 9 walks up to us, while walking, sees us and goes, “ewwwwww businessmen!” We all just looked at each other as she walked by. We all weren’t sure if we heard her right but we clearly did. It was so funny haha so we joked around at the trunk or treat that we were dressed up as businessmen.

It didn’t really feel like Halloween either because we didn’t get any trick or treaters and we had to be inside the apartment before 6:00 Saturday and Sunday so it was kind of a lame holiday but it was fun to see some kids get ready to go before we had to go inside.

Not much happened this week but again, I pray for you all. Your safety, spirituality, and well-being. Don’t forget that your focus determines your destiny. Change your attitude and focus to be tailored to reach your goals. I love you all so much and please email me!!! Muchos Besos!! And remember, God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good!!
