And then there were 2

Another week and another email from Paris Texas!! I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through December!! It’s crazy!! But with that in mind, don’t forget to follow along with the Light the World Calendar!! It’s a super-easy way to remember the true meaning of Christmas and serve those around you.

Monday night we had dinner with a member and they have a 4 year old daughter Lynlee and she will talk and talk for forever. She’s so adorable. When I first got out of the car I saw and asked what her name was and she goes, “My name is Lynlee, isn’t it cute??” It was so funny!! And she definitely said a lot of funny things during dinner and the rest of the night. But she was adorable.

Tuesday was super cool because we had a huge miracle! We were walking to Chick-fil-A for some studies and this lady pulls over crying asking to talk to us. She went and parked and said she just needed a message if comfort. She’s an alcoholic and fears that she’ll put her kids in danger. She said that she’s had too many problems that her pastor has given up on her. So she was just a mess but we shared a message and scripture with her and I gave her a hug and she was just bawling. We told her about the church’s addiction recovery program and she really wants to do that so it’ll be super good for her. We were just at the right place at the right time and it was super cool.

Wednesday we had interviews in Paris and it was so good. I love talking with President and Sister Seitz. Then after that we did exchanges with the ZLs but in Paris this time. I was with Elder speyer still and then Elder Thomas came with us. We had a super good time and it was super spiritual just talking about experiences and why we’re on missions and stuff like that. Then we had a lesson with Alfred and it went super good too.

Friday was awesome because we met with a lady we taught once but she never got back to us so we thought we’d have to drop her. She was on the porch with her boyfriend when we walked by and they actually seemed excited to see us. We sat down and talked for a while and it was super good. Apparently, she just works 2 jobs an is super busy with the kids and whatnot too. But her boyfriend was baptized in 2016 in California and then got divorced and left the church and he even said that his life has gone downhill since he left the church. It was super cool and spiritual. They committed to do light the World and wanted the calendar and everything!! They even came to our ward Christmas party which was a drive-through nativity and it was super cool!

Sunday was a slow day but it was good. That night we were asked to visit an older widow in the ward to bring her the sacrament so we went there and we got some weird vibes. Her 2 sons live with her and one of them left the church and was being super weird. He told us he was super active and everything “Until God took my daughter from me”. It was super sad cause he said he wasn’t on good terms with God. Then when we were leaving he gave us his name and number to give to someone higher up in the church because when his mom dies he’s gonna sue the (heck) out of the church. It was just super weird and he seemed so angry but didn’t give us any details. Anyways this morning we had a nerf war with Kyle who’s an RM here that served in salt lake. It was pretty fun and nice to have a change. We also found out the Elder Christensen is getting emergency transferred tomorrow because a missionary is going to Tahiti. So that’s super crazy and super sad. He’s not gonna be here for Christmas and now it’s just me and Elder Speyer in the apartment. Plus us 2 have to work in both areas which is crazy but we’ll do what we can.

Just like always I love you all and always am excited to hear from you. I love to catch up and just hear how yalls lives are going. So keep emailing me!! Muchos Besos! And remember, God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good!!!

Love,Elder Grubbs
